My questions don’t fit into a single form, so I write wherever they land. I tackle what worries me and keeps me up at night, and my characters are no better off: overwhelmed, marked by the wounds of history and culture. Time —so self-important— shapes them and breaks them.

And paradoxically, even though I mostly write in the past or present, I’m obsessed with the future. My stories lean forward and, with a bit of utopian stubbornness, insist on imagining a humanity that’s a little less messed up.
